The medication turns your appetite down. It doesn't tell you what to eat.

You're eating a fraction of what you used to, and you're worried you're not getting enough protein or nutrients.
The scales are moving, but you feel flat, tired or foggy by mid-afternoon.
Nausea is making it hard to eat well, or constipation is making you feel heavy and lethargic.
Foods you used to love don't appeal anymore, and your hunger cues feel all over the place.
You're quietly worried about what might happen to your weight, and your muscle, when you stop.

None of this means the medication isn't working. It means your nutrition has to work harder, because every bite now counts for more.

What food can do

One of my clients came to me relying on sleeping tablets and running on empty. By changing what he ate, he lost over a stone, came off the tablets completely and found the energy to start growing his own business. On a GLP-1, what you eat matters even more.

What we'll cover in 45 minutes

Then 15 minutes of Q&A, so bring your questions.

01

How GLP-1s actually work

A plain-English look at what the medication does to your appetite and digestion, and why that changes what your body needs from food.

02

Protein and strength training

Why protecting lean muscle is the biggest priority on a GLP-1, how much protein to aim for, and the strength training that makes the difference.

03

The nutrients most at risk

Iron, vitamin D, B12 and calcium. Why they can drop when you're eating less, and what that means for your energy and your bones.

04

Fibre, hydration and side effects

Practical ways to ease nausea and constipation, so side effects don't stop you eating well.

05

Eating well with a smaller appetite

Real nutrient-dense meal examples, plus how to handle changing food preferences and hunger cues that feel out of sync.

Q&A

Your questions, answered

15 minutes to ask about your own situation. Nothing is too basic to ask.

This is for you if

  • You're taking a GLP-1 and want guidance to lose fat, not muscle
  • You're considering one and want to start with the right foundations
  • You're coming off, or planning to, and want to hold on to your results
  • You want practical, evidence-based guidance you can use at your very next meal

It's not for you if

  • You want advice on which medication or dose to take. That's a conversation for your prescriber
  • You're after a crash diet or a rigid meal plan
  • You'd rather skip the strength training bit. It's important to maintain lean muscle

Picture the next few months

You open the fridge and know exactly what to put on your plate, even when you're barely hungry. Your clothes fit better, and you feel stronger, not smaller and more tired. You get through the afternoon without reaching for another coffee. And if you come off the medication, you've already got the habits in place to keep your results where they are.

Health isn't built through one big decision. It's built through the small choices we make every single day.

Meet your host

Hi, I'm Alison.

I didn't become a nutritionist because I had it all figured out. I became one because I didn't feel confident in myself. I knew I could achieve more in my career and my life, if I had the energy, clarity and body to match the ambition I already had.

What changed things wasn't another diet or more willpower. It was understanding how food actually works in the body: how protein, muscle and blood sugar drive energy and focus, and how small, repeatable choices beat any all-or-nothing plan.

Now I help ambitious professionals build nutrition around real life, with client dinners, travel and family meals included. GLP-1s are changing how people lose weight. It's important that they're losing weight safely, and feeling sharper, stronger and more confident for it.

I'm a nutritionist and qualified personal trainer, and the founder of The Realign Method.

Why this talk is different

Most GLP-1 advice stops at "eat more protein". As a nutritionist and a personal trainer, I'll show you how food and strength training work together to protect your muscle, bones and energy, in a way that fits the life you actually live.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes, there's no cost to attend. You just need to book so we know how many seats to set out.

Do I need to be on a GLP-1 to come?

No. It's for anyone taking one, thinking about starting, or coming off.

Will you tell me which medication or dose to take?

No. Medication decisions sit with your prescriber. This talk covers the nutrition and training that support you while you take it.

I've been on a GLP-1 for months. Is it too late?

Not at all. Wherever you are, better protein, strength training and nutrient-dense food can start making a difference from your very next meal.

Will I feel judged for using weight loss medication?

Absolutely not. This is a friendly, judgement-free room. My job is to help you feel your best while you use it, not to question your choice.

What if the advice feels too complicated to follow?

Everything is practical and in plain English, with real meal examples. You'll leave with a few small changes you can make straight away, not a rulebook.

Can I bring a friend?

Of course. Just ask them to book their own place so there's a seat for them.
